2012 Farmington Girls Fastpitch Summer Softball Clinics

Farmington High School Head Coach Paul Harrington will be hosting softball clinics for FGFA this June and July.  You can now register using the link below.  Please read the attachment for detailed information.

Who:  All players, 10U and above.  Players will be grouped by age (10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U), and should sign up for the age level they are currently playing this 2012 season.

When:  Dates and times vary by age (please view the attached flyer for this information)

Location:  Boeckman Middle School Fields

Cost:  10U/12U/14U:  $40 for six, 2-hour sessions.  16U/18U:  $25 for six, 2-hour sessions.

Enrollment may be limited, and FGFA members will have first priority until June 1st.  If you have any questions on these clinics, please contact Jason Hall or Paul Harrington.

FGFA Open Gym Opportunities

 

FGFA provides open gym time to our members during the off season.  For the 2011-2012 off-season:  No gym pass necessary, membership in FGFA is required.  Every player using the gym space during this offseason must be an FGFA member.  
 
Players 12 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
 
Location:
Boeckman Middle School, gyms 4&5 on most evenings.  Please see the calendar for any gym, date, and/or time changes.
 
                       
Offseason gym schedules will include:
 
*Open gyms to all FGFA members:  During these times any FGFA member may utilize the gym spaces. 
 
*10U and younger clinic nights:  FGFA Coaches will be leading our 10U and younger players in drills focusing on hitting, fielding, throwing, and agility.  Each clinic may focus on a specific area.
 
You will find the following available throughout the offseason:
 
Batting Cage (located in Boeckman Middle School gym 5) - each player needs an adult to feed the pitching machine. Sign up when you arrive for open gym. Players must wear a helmet with cage. Bats are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own.
 
 
Pitching lessons - Coaches from Powerline Pitching will be conducting pitching clinics for $80/person per session (6 one-hour sessions). Lessons are available on Monday evenings. Up to 6 players can participate in weekly pitching lessons per time slot. Each player needs to have a catcher (can be a parent). 
      
Catchers - If you would like to sharpen your skills and assist a Pitcher during their assigned pitching time, please contact Jason Hall, Off Season-Player Development Director.  Also, catching lessons to be provided on Monday evenings.  These lessons will also be one hour in length.  
 
**Keep an eye on the calendar as additional days, times, and specific clinics may be offered

FGFA Open Gym Rules

 

* Girls will be respectful of others
* Girls will stay in the gym only / no loitering in hallways
* Girls will be expected to come ready to work on softball skills / no loitering around
* Pitchers need to supply own catchers
* Younger players need supervision
* Pitching Machines can be dangerous / Adults and Coaches will operate only
* Sign up sheets to be used for batting cages
* Working with Pitching and Hitting coaches will be divided into skill sets
